Welcome to the department

The Department of Medical Biochemistry is a service Department responsible for the teaching and research of Medical Biochemistry in the College of Health Sciences. The Department plays an important role in providing students with a strong foundation in the biochemical principles and processes that underpin human health, disease, and medical practice.

The main objective of the Department is to prepare Dental, Medical, Medical Rehabilitation, and Nursing students for professional practice through the teaching of basic biochemical processes and their relevance to human health. Through effective teaching, practical learning, and research, the Department equips students with the fundamental knowledge and understanding required to appreciate the biochemical basis of normal body functions and the changes that occur in disease conditions.
